Would you like to have weed-eating cows, but getting started on your own is intimidating?
Not to worry - we can help you every step of the way.
Here's what you get with our coaching program:
A copy of the new book "Cows Eat Weeds" and the DVD "Training Cows to Eat Canada Thistle."
The book describes the steps in the process, the science behind why it works, and provides troubleshooting tips throughout. The video shows you the process in action and ranchers describing what they see their animals doing as they learn.

Having you there to answer questions if I needed you was very nice. - Jan Kluver, Ranch Resources. MT

A plan prepared just for your cows and your operation..
We'll visit by phone about your operation's needs, your cows and your target weeds.
I will send you a list of questions in advance so that you can be prepared. Based on what you tell me, we'll write a plan for you to use to train your animals. The plan will include:
- a breakdown of which foods and how much you'll feed each day. I'll talk to the folks at your local feed store and based on what they ahve available I'll pick out the feeds you'l used to start your animals on the training;
- what I expect your animals will do as the training progresses;
- signals to watch for that show the animals are progressing well;
- how many weeds you will need to pick and how to serve them to the animals;
- when trainees begin eating weeds in pasture and where and what size the trial pasture will be.
Phone/email support as you train.
When we're both satisfied that the plan will work for you and your animals, you will purchase the feeds from the feed store and begin the training process. As you train, you can update me and I'll make suggestions as necessary to fine tune the process.
Train once and you're done!
The entire training process shouldn't take more than about 10 hours over 10 days. Once your trainees are eating weeds, they will train their offspring and herd mates. Animals will keep on eating weeds year after year, so once you complete this training, you'll never have to train again unless you get rid of your entire herd. |
