Long-Distance Workshops
This is a great way to introduce folks to the idea of turning their cows into weed managers and follow up with phone support or on-site training for those ready to give it a try. It can also help you make the most of limited budgets.
A long-distance workshop covers the same material as in-person presentations and workshops, but we take advantage of technology instead. Here's how it works:
- I send you:
- A DVD with the presentation on it and step by step instructions for how to install it on your computer, and how to set up for our phone-in meeting.
- Handouts on CD so that you can print them for your invitees.
- You provide a meeting room for your participants, a computer with speakers to run the presentation on, an LCD projector connected to the computer and a speaker phone.
- I'll call you and we do the workshop together.
While you can't see me, you can ask questions, and I can help folks figure out how to get started at home.
This is how I began work on my project with Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. I did a Long-Distance Workshop with the Environmental Flight's staff and we worked through concerns and questions they had and put together the logistics for training their animals. When the weeds came up and it was time for training, I flew to California and worked with their Range Manager to train 50 cows to eat black mustard.
Cost for a Long-Distance Workshop is $800. Additional phone support and on-site visits are billed separately.
